Sandwich Holder

I have redesigned my previous design for a sandwich holder which I was asked to make in order for kids with disabilities to be able to eat a sandwich for the most part by themselves. I designed the sandwich holder to be able to be handled easily by someone with little coordination with their hands. I also was asked to make it so that it could be cleaned easily and safe for the kid to use. What I did to make it easy to clean was have as few small spaces as possible and I also made it so that you can disassemble it. How I made the sandwich holder safe was I rounded off the edges that are near the sandwich where they would eat. Another feature that I included was I added a piece that goes through the sandwich that will help hold it in. There is a rubberband that attaches to the piece that goes through the sandwich in order to keep tension which will keep the top piece from coming off while eating. The major improvements that I made were changing the sizes of all of the parts. I made the handle thinner so that it could be held more easily by someone with a disability. I also shortened the whole sandwich holder to give the person better control with it. The other major thing that I changed was the pivot point where the top piece rotates in order to make it easier to clean.
