Name: PDA / Cell Phone Notification System
CAD: Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire 3.0

Description:

The novelty of this design exploits a unique notification capability which allows Deaf/Hard-of-Hearing people to be notified as their PDA/cell phone is activated while they are sleeping or away from their device.

The device system consists of a platform containing a holster with a vibrator sensor, a snooze button, an alarm on/off button, and a lamp switch. The vibration from the PDA/cell phone in the holster sets off the sensor which activates the electrical pulses to a household light or a bed vibrator under a pillow/mattress. The pulse notification will trigger enough stimuli to alert the user. The user responds to the notification by either pressing the on/off button or pressing the snooze button for a few more minutes of sleep. Even when the lamp switch is on, the notification will still alert the user.

The plastic platform is processed by Dimension BST 768 utilizing Catalyst® software. The device is composed of: cavities for the front/side buttons, and for the outlets in the back, a rubber holster platform to support a PDA/cell phone, and an underside pocket for the electronic circuit.

This innovation performs two basic functions: to wake up people, and to alert people who are expecting messages.
