Description:

This entry is lava lamp, the designs on the wall are made
by light shining through the colored glass.
Art can take any form, and the more unorthodox the material,
the more original the art. Sculptures can be dull, they don’t
do anything, they just sit there. This lava lamp on the other
hand, is dynamic. It moves, changes, projects its aura throughout
the room. That is exactly what this art piece is designed to do.
The light projects the shapes in the glass throughout the room,
making where ever the lamp is also part of the art. Art is
beauty, and the point of this work of art is to create something
that is pleasing to the eye. I wanted to design something unique,
and this is the result.
While art is not necessarily useful, it is hugely important to
culture. What would the world be like if everything was steel and
concrete? Art is important in that it gives beauty to otherwise
bland places. Trying to make art from new or unusual materials is
the definition of innovation. This project is designed to create
extraordinary art from ordinary objects that are put together in
a new way.
